About the Role

The Loan Doc & Proc Analyst 1 is a trainee professional role that supports the end-to-end loan documentation and processing function at Citi. This position requires a foundational understanding of financial products and processes, with a focus on precision, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance. The role has limited but direct business impact and is ideal for individuals starting their career in banking operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review loan documentation in support of various loan processing tasks.

• Process and close loans independently within a complex operations environment.

• Manage day-to-day Collateral Management activities, including:

  • Booking cash transactions

  • Making payments

  • Posting general ledger entries

  • Performing complex calculations

• Interact with counterparties to reconcile positions and resolve outstanding balances or claims.

• Support diverse financial products while ensuring risk and control standards are upheld.

• Follow documented procedures to investigate, identify, and resolve process issues.

• Assist in improving loan documentation procedures and recommend enhancements.

• Analyze loan reports for management and assist in the launch of new products or services.

• Minimize operational risk by ensuring adherence to procedural and audit standards.

• Escalate issues in a timely manner and manage inquiries efficiently.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating strong communication and diplomacy skills.

• Maintain a sound understanding of loan systems, processes, and how they integrate with wider business operations.

Qualifications

• Experience: 0–2 years in loan operations, documentation, or related transaction services

• Education: Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent work experience

• Basic understanding of:

  • Loan products and documentation

  • Business processes, systems, and tools used in lending

  • Risk policies and regulatory requirements

• Ability to identify and escalate risks/issues effectively

• Good problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
